Our Tuesday afternoon Cooking Class is a food party! (We cook with wine, and some of it is for the food) So, put on your apron and join the talented Chef Zulay for a 2 hour hands-on cooking class in which you will create a 4-course dinner which will be served to you by the staff.
Start your day and schedule a morning Yoga class held in our open air Yoga Shala. Enjoy a class with peaceful nature sounds, fresh tropical air and local Internationally Certified instructors.
If you’re looking to still keep up with your fitness routine while on vacation, then worry not! Our hotel has a one of a kind open air fitness center with views that look out over the tropical forest out to the Pacific Ocean. Our gym is equipped with 1 treadmill, 1 stationary bike, a universal weight machine, a weight bench and free weights.
If you’re up for a challenge, we suggest our 5km walk. With an altitude loss and gain of 400 feet, this is an experience that’ll surely be one for the books!

Descend upon your adventure now!
We offer a “Mangrove & Estuary Tour” up a river with a professional guide to view salt-water crocodiles, monkeys, and tropical birds. You will be guided through mangroves and have a chance to get out of the boat and explore in the mangroves. Great photo opportunities!
Spend the afternoon sailing on a large, comfortable catamaran for a half day sunset cruise with dolphins, rays, and occasional whales. Sail through Tamarindo Bay past Playa Grande and into a private cove where you can snorkel, kayak and have a chance to see octopus, puffer fish, starfish and more. You will enjoy lunch, complimentary drinks and return to Tamarindo during sunset.
Take a day trip to the beautiful Palo Verde National Park where you’ll come face to face with white-faced monkeys as they come up to your boat! Learn about Costa Rica’s variety of wildlife, animals and the local area from a professional guide.

This is fun! Sign up for an ATV tour and explore the back trails of Guanacaste Province and descend onto the beautiful beaches of Costa Rica. Feel the fresh air on your face and see multiple villages and areas of Costa Rica.
Day Trip – Guachipelin
If extreme activities are your cup of tea, then look no further. This is an action packed full day trip perfect for the adventurous traveller. You will head up to the nearest volcano where you have the options of tubing down rivers, waterfall rappelling, horseback riding, zip lining, hot springs and more. You will definitely be exhausted after this full day of adventure!
Day Trip – Arenal Volcano
Feel connected with the jungle walking through the rain forest at the base of the Volcano and enjoy one of the best areas to see wildlife. This is just something you cannot miss if you are in Costa Rica. The tour includes transportation, your choice of 2 sky adventures, time to relax in therapeutic volcanic hot water springs surrounded by the marvels of nature and lunch!
Day Trip – Rio Celeste Waterfall
Visit one of the 7 Marvels of Costa Rica! It’s an early start as you leave en route to Rio Celeste and arrive at the Tenorio Volcano National Park to begin your hike through the tropical rainforest. The tour includes transportation, a bilingual guide hike, a step to see the spectacular Rio Celeste waterfall (whose color makes it one of a kind) and a delicious lunch.
Surf Lessons
The beaches near the hotel (15 minutes) are perfect for beginners to intermediate. Take a surf lesson at the famous Tamarindo beach, you may even ride a wave to shore on your first day! Tamarindo is known for the epic surf movie Endless Summer and you may see the local legend, Robert August cruising the beach or out for a surf session.
Sport fishing
Embark on an amazing day of fishing in Costa Rica. Out on the ocean you will have an opportunity to catch and release marlin and sailfish and an occasional rooster fish! Other fish to catch (and eat!) include tuna, dorado, grouper and more. While you are out fishing you may even see dolphins, whales and turtles. Half day and full day charters are available.
Horseback Riding
This is what Guanacaste is all about. An area which is steeped in history of farms, ranches and cowboys. Discover the beauty of the tropical dry forest, and the local flora and fauna. The first part of the tour will be a ride through small towns, where you will be able to enjoy great views, meet locals, and learn about how they live and work. On the last part of the horseback ride, you’ll be witnessing some of the most beautiful white sand beaches ending in the famous Conchal Beach (you can even add 45 minutes of snorkeling!).

Authentic, Historical and Colorful
National Park Tour
Take a day trip to Palo Verde National Park where you will explore the Tempisque river, the most important river in Guanacaste province. You will enjoy a two and a half hour boat journey and a cultural tour. From the boat, see the fabulous array of wild birds and a myriad of creatures such as white faced monkeys, green iguanas, coatis, anteaters and crocodiles.
Reina's Chocolate Tour
At Reina’s Chocolate, they roast their own locally sourced cacao. In the course of 3+ hours they cover the history of cacao, the plant, and chocolate, the food. You will enjoy 4 different beverages during the workshop, taste test a lot of chocolate, tour the production facilities, and even make 3 bars of your own! They will teach you how to judge chocolate professionally while sampling the many varieties of chocolate (15+) they have available.
Beaches
Sunbathing, Swimming and Exploring
Tamarindo Beach
Located just 15 minutes away, Tamarindo beach is a tourist area that offers many boutiques, souvenir shopping, local restaurants and about a mile of beach. Here you can watch locals play soccer on the beach, swim in the ocean, stroll along the estuary or simply shop! This is a great opportunity to enjoy the beach and see a tourist town. We are happy to provide you complimentary transportation to beaches and Tamarindo.
Playa Avellanas
Located about 15 minutes away, Playa Avellanas is a more secluded beach that offers great beach combing, surfing and relaxing. Located at the entrance of the beach is Lola’s Restaurant/Beach Bar with their famous 400-pound pig (Lolita) that roams around and sits at the waters edge. The restaurant offers good beach food with lots of undercover seating. The beach is very peaceful and is perfect to layout for the day, read a good book and take a dip in the ocean. Water temperatures here are about 80 degrees year round.
Getting Around Here is Easy
Getting around the area is easy because we do all the driving for you! Our suite room rates include complimentary transportation to towns, beaches, and shopping surrounding the Tamarindo area -all just 15 minutes away. Costa Rica roads can be pretty terrible, and it is much easier to be a passenger than to drive!
