JOIN US FOR THE GREEN SEASON

Here on the West Coast of Costa Rica, we are preparing to leave the dry season behind and enter the Green Season. We know, we know, you’ve never heard of the Green Season. While the rest of the world knows this time of year as the rainy season, we like to call it our Green Season because it brings the brightest greens and the lushest jungle of the year.

What is the Green Season?

If you check the weather report on any random day between May and November the forecast will likely say “100% chance of rain.” However, that doesn’t actually mean what you think it does! Ignore those visions of day-long downpours. In reality, the days tend to be similar weather to Florida summers. A sunny, clear morning will progress to an occasional afternoon shower. Packing your rain jacket for the day isn’t a bad idea, but the chances of you getting stuck all day in a deluge of rain are slim!

Due to those daily rain storms, temperatures tend to be cooler and much more comfortable everyday. As much as that daily rainstorm might be a bummer for us, the surrounding jungle absolutely loves it. If you visit during the Green Season, you’ll be treated to the densest jungle and greenest greens you can imagine. It also brings out the curiosity in the animals as well and we tend to see them more.

You can also take advantage of the afternoon rains by using that time to indulge in one of our spa experiences. The sound of rain hitting the roof pairs perfectly with a massage!

Why We Love the Green Season

Since the words “Rainy Season” usually prevent most travelers from joining us this time of year, because of that you’ll be able to enjoy all that Costa Rica has to offer with significantly less crowds. Imagine spending a day on the beach with just a handful of other visitors, what a dream!

This lack of crowds also translates to decreased pricing on hotels, tours, and other experiences.
